Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.

~Bill Clinton

Our student volunteers are the driving force behind PBSC at UBC.  Students often take on intimidating legal projects with enthusiasm and courage.  In exchange, PBSC volunteers enjoy the networking opportunities and legal experience that their placements provide them.

If you are a student who is interested in volunteering with PBSC please view the Student Sign Up page and submit an Application and a signed Student Agreement.  Student volunteers must commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week throughout the duration of their projects.  Students are not expected to volunteer at all during the months of December and April.

Placements most often run from September until November and January until March, depending on the nature of the project and the needs of the partner organization.  There are also volunteer positions available in the summer.  Contact the coordinators in April or May if you are interested in a summer placement.
